Trioscope Team Launches New Animation Studio

L.C. Crowley, Brandon Barr and Greg Jonkajtys have launched Trioscope Studios, a new studio dedicated to next-generation enhanced hybrid animation.

The Los Angeles-based studio will develop original dramatic content and adapt and produce third-party intellectual property, all to be produced in its revolutionary new platform. Veteran producers and entrepreneurs Crowley and Barr will serve as CEO and chief content officer of Trioscope Studios, respectively. Jonkajtys, an animator and VFX artist, will be the company’s chief creative officer. Joining the trio is Brian Lavin as senior VP of development.

Trioscope’s proprietary enhanced hybrid animation combines human performance with animated environments to produce a unique viewing experience. The new animated technology is being used in the upcoming Netflix World War II animated drama series The Liberator. Trioscope has also already partnered with Dark Horse Comics, Oni Press, Unique Features and Hulu for unannounced projects.

Crowley and Barr said: “Trioscope can effectively produce in ways no other platform can. So often, dramatic material can’t get made because it’s too creatively ambitious or costly. This technology allows creators to imagine without limits—from contemporary to historic periods, and from fantasy to reality—and all on an achievable budget.”
