FilmBox Live Launches 4K Streaming

CANNES: SPI International’s FilmBox Live VOD service is now capable of streaming 4K content using broadband Internet and mobile networks, the company announced at MIPCOM.

The content, which include new videos shot in native 4K, can be viewed on 4K IP-streaming-supported devices such as Smart TV platforms. SPI International is sldo developing its first Ultra HD channel called 4K FunBox, which will feature a selection of documentaries, music videos and animations.

“Our new low-bandwidth 4K streaming technology offers Internet users the opportunity to stream 4K content using their regular residential Internet connection,” said Berk Uziyel, the executive director of Filmbox International. “We are currently talking to several major hardware partners who are eager to launch our app on their devices.”
