BBC’s Sean Hancock Joins FremantleMedia North America

BURBANK: Sean Hancock, a former BBC Entertainment executive, has been hired by FremantleMedia North America as the company’s VP of alternative programming.

In his new role, which is effective April 28, Hancock will be charged with the development and production of reality competition, game show and other non-scripted television content. He will work under Toby Gorman, the company’s recently named executive VP of alternative programming.

For the past few years, Hancock has been serving as a commissioning editor for BBC Entertainment, where he greenlit and/or exec produced a number of titles, including The Revolution Will Be Televised, Sweat the Small Stuff and Junior Doctors. Earlier in his career, he worked as a freelancer, during which time he produced such popular entertainment shows as Celebrity Big Brother and The Farm, among others.
