SINGAPORE: MediaCorp is inviting participants to take part in its technical trials for Toggle, a new over-the-top (OTT) interactive service.

Toggle will deliver Internet content to connected TVs, computers, tablet devices or mobile phones. Toggle trial users will be able to access all seven free-to-air channels, as well as use interactive features with program-related information such as behind-the-scenes footage and cast interviews. Catch-up TV will be available for selected Channel 5, 8, U, okto, Suria and Vasantham programs. Advanced viewing will be offered for select current Channel 8 dramas. More than 200 hours worth of MediaCorp drama series will be available through the trials, as will be Internet radio.

The technical trial is scheduled for the first quarter of 2012.

Philip Koh, the managing director for the convergent media division at MediaCorp, said: “We are very pleased to launch this new TV viewing experience that ushers a new era of enhanced entertainment experience for our local audience who are increasingly mobile and may not appeal to appointment-viewing. The technical trial will enable the team to iron out the kinks and to get feedback from trial users.”
