MIPCOM 2011 Personality of the Year & Keynote Address

NEW YORK: Anna Carugati, the group editorial director of World Screen, will be interviewing Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney/ABC Television Group, and MIPCOM 2011 Personality of the Year, following her keynote address at MIPCOM on Wednesday, October 5.

MIPCOM 2011 Personality of the Year & Keynote Address will take place on Wednesday, October 5, from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals.

Sweeney oversees ABC Studios, the ABC Owned Television Stations Group and the ABC Television Network. She also has oversight for Disney Channels Worldwide, which features a portfolio of 95 kid-focused entertainment channels, including Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Disney Cinemagic and Hungama. Her responsibilities also include cable networks ABC Family and SOAPnet, the company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks and Disney’s publishing outfit, Hyperion.

Sweeney joined The Walt Disney Company in February 1996 as president of Disney Channel and executive VP of Disney/ABC Cable Networks. Previously, she was the chairman and CEO of FX Networks. Before joining Fox, Sweeney served a 12-year tenure at Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite in various executive roles.

Sweeney is a board member of A&E Television Networks, the Paley Center for Media, the American Film Institute and the Special Olympics.
