LONDON: ITV Studios and the British online gaming company Gamesys have signed a deal for the creation of a series of web games surrounding the Syco TV series Red or Black?

The deal with Gamesys is for a series of four play-by-lay games based on the branding of the game show. Red or Black Slots, Red or Black Instant, Red or Black Hi Lo and Black Stacks will be available at jackpotjoy.com. The games will also be promoted with a TV ad campaign.

The broadcaster has also struck a deal with Monterosa, a company specializing in social TV, to create a play-along experience to go with Red or Black? The free game will be available at ITV.com. Online players can compete with their Facebook friends and unlock achievements that enhance the game.

Denise O’Donoghue, the managing director for ITV Studios UK, said: “A prime-time production of the scale of Red or Black? clearly has a huge amount of potential off-air; working with Syco we have been exploring the best opportunities to fully exploit this fantastic programme idea. Gamesys are experts in branded online gaming and are well positioned to reap maximum value from Red or Black? in this area."

Richard Williams of itv.com added: “Red or Black? offers a great opportunity for viewers to play along at home in real time and we’re really excited about the experience that has been created in partnership with both Gamesys and Monterosa.”

Lee Fenton, the COO of Gamesys, commented: “Red or Black? is the most exciting TV event of the year and at Gamesys we are delighted to be working with ITV Studios and Syco to develop exclusive games that capture the excitement of the show and allow Jackpotjoy players to make their own Red or Black decisions.”

Simon Brickle, Monterosa’s managing director, said: "2-Screen is becoming a valuable part of mainstream entertainment formats and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to bring our experience to such a big and spectacular show."

Red or Black? is co-produced by Syco TV and ITV Studios for ITV1.
