Video Interview: Shaftesbury’s Rachel Low

NEW YORK: Rachel Low, the VP of factual entertainment at Shaftesbury Films, reveals in this video interview how the recently launched Shaftesbury Factual division will work to produce series across a broad range of nonscripted genres.

In September of last year, Shaftesbury Films, an established provider of drama and live-action kids’ fare to the global market, announced its expansion into the factual space. Low is overseeing all aspects of development and production at the new division.

“The move into factual production is the next strategic step for us to further diversify our business and development slate,” said Shaftesbury’s CEO, Christina Jennings, on the launch of the new division. “Rachel is an accomplished, highly talented producer with a proven track record developing hit factual properties. She will bring fresh vision to our business and ensure we are positioned to succeed in the non-fiction arena.”

Low, executive producer on hits such as Pitchin’ In and The Opener, joined Shaftesbury from Frantic Films, where she was executive producer and development consultant. Prior to this, Low was president and executive producer of Red Apple Entertainment.
