Mobile Viewing Reaches All-Time High in the U.S.

NEW YORK: More Americans than ever before watched video on their mobile devices in the second quarter of 2010, according to Nielsen’s new State of the Media report.

The number of people watching videos on their mobiles is still small when compared to TV, but consumers are increasingly using the device for viewing. The number of people watching mobile video increased more than 43 percent year-on-year, reaching 21,957.

The amount of time spent watching video on mobile phones is up 11.3 percent with users over the age of 13. The 13-to-17 demographic watches the most, followed by those 18 to 24, then 25 to 34, 35 to 49 and 50 to 64 and 65+.
