FremantleMedia Names MD for Danish Production Arm

LONDON: Effective April 1, 2011, Kim Ardal is to become the new managing director of Blu, FremantleMedia’s Danish production division.

Ardal will be responsible for all development and production operations in Denmark. He will work closely with a variety of divisions within the FremantleMedia group and leverage existing relationships with broadcast and non-broadcast partners in the Danish market. Ardal will be based in Copenhagen, reporting directly to Daniela Matei, the CEO for the Nordics, Central Eastern Europe and Balkans at FremantleMedia.

Prior to his appointment, Ardal was the VP for the Nordics at Zodiak Television. He previously served as head of programs at Blu, where he was the executive producer of a number of shows.

Matei said: “We are delighted to welcome Kim back to Blu as managing director. Kim has considerable experience in the Danish television industry which we believe will be instrumental to identifying and securing the best opportunities and driving our business further in this territory. His expertise makes him the ideal candidate to lead Blu’s creative team and enhance our strong presence in the Danish market.”
