NEW YORK: Following the successful relaunch of TVKids.ws as a stand-alone website, World Screen is spinning off its TV Formats online destination as a dedicated site, as well as launching a TV Formats Weekly newsletter.

The two new resources, slated for a January 2011 debut, will deliver news, video, features, interviews and profiles exclusively for this rapidly expanding segment of the industry.

TVFormats.ws will serve as a one-stop shop for executives seeking the latest information on trends in the formats business. News will be divided into three focused categories: Creation, about new formats on the market; Adaptation, detailing the latest sales and options; and Expansion, with announcements of partnerships, mergers and acquisitions. The home page will also feature video clips of new formats, as well as a range of other resources, including interviews with key players in the industry, trend pieces and more.

“We are already the leading provider of information for the format business with our TV Formats, TV Formatos and TV Formats Distributors Guide publications, the only ones of their kind in the industry,” says Ricardo Guise, president and publisher of World Screen. “TVFormats.ws and TV Formats Weekly strengthen our abilities to serve this key segment of the global content market and add to our ever-growing portfolio of digital resources, which already includes nine newsletters and 22 genre- and region-focused websites and online communities, in addition to two video portals.”

TVFormats.ws and TV Formats Weekly already have a number of marquee sponsors in place, and a few premium placements are still available. For more information, contact Ricardo Guise on rguise@worldscreen.com.
