LOS ANGELES: Among the new projects on Pop Monkey Productions’ slate is a co-production with British billionaire Alki David, with a show that follows the controversial media tycoon.

Alki David’s Right Hand Man will follow the eccentric billionaire, who recently made headlines by offering $1 million to the first person to streak in front of U.S. president Barack Obama to promote his website, Battlecam. Other projects include a cross-platform reality show starring Black Eyed Peas’ head stylist Lor-e Phillips; an interactive hidden-camera format, You’re the Boss, with former COO of FremantleMedia North America Eugene Young; and an interactive game-show format, The Jury, optioned by Paris-based FrenchTV. There’s also a U.K. version of the U.S. awards show The Asian Excellence Awards.

Pop Monkey was recently established by Chuck Thomas and Simone Thorogood with Syd Vinnedge and Hugh Wright.

"We’re excited to be working with Alki David and Lor-e Phillips on these cross-platform shows that we hope will engage audiences and offer broadcasters additional revenue streams," said Thomas. "I’m also thrilled to be collaborating with Eugene Young and FrenchTV and hope this will be the first of many international co-productions to come."
