TORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment and Entertainment One (eOne) have teamed up to co-produce the hour-long holiday-themed The Kenny vs. Spenny Christmas Special, to air on Canada’s Showcase in December.

The special follows the two dysfunctional friends and roommates, who are both Jewish, as they engage in outrageous antics and intense rivalries. The program is executive produced by Breakthrough’s Ira Levy and Peter Williamson, eOne’s John Morayniss and Noreen Halpern and series stars Spencer Rice and Kenny Hotz.

"This Christmas special is a tremendous opportunity for Kenny and I to show the world that we can do more than make idiots out of ourselves while competing," said Rice (Spenny). "But I’m not saying we won’t be making idiots of ourselves, or that we won’t be competing. Essentially, we’ll be making idiots of ourselves and competing in a more traditional television genre."

Hotz commented that the show is "everything you didn’t want in a Christmas special and less."
