LONDON: Cineflix International Distribution has sold more than 160 hours of programming to German broadcasters within the last six months.

Discovery Networks Deutschland has taken on seasons one and two of Border Security. The program spotlights Australia’s front line in the fight against drug trafficking, wildlife smuggling and identity fraud, and will debut on the men’s lifestyle channel DMAX in January.

Cineflix has secured a co-distribution agreement with ZDF Enterprises that sees 100 hours of Cineflix productions distributed across German-speaking Europe. Titles include Mayday, Austin Stevens Adventures, Human Prey, Paradise Lost and Cooler Facts.

A deal for 12 hours of the true-crime series Cold Blood was made with Tele 5. TSR of Switzerland has taken the 90-minute drama-doc Manson, chronicling the events leading up to the macabre Tate/LaBianca murders in 1969.

Other deals with German-speaking broadcasters include a pact with ProSiebenSat.1’s N24 for Industrious, The Eyes’ new one-hour HD doc about the workings of a major deepwater port. RTL’s n-tv went for Zero Hour, which re-enacts the final minutes leading up to iconic events that changed the course of history. RTL also took the drama doc Nazi Hunters for its pay-TV service, where it will premiere in 2011.

Caroline Schroeter, the sales manager for German-speaking Europe, who will shortly be assuming responsibility for Cineflix’s activities in Russian-speaking Central and Eastern Europe, said: “We have several high-performing shows and formats, such as Inside The Box and Weird Or What?, that I believe have great potential in German-speaking Europe and I shall be focusing on those as we move into the second half of the year.”
