ABC Family Gets New President

BURBANK: Michael Riley has been named president of ABC Family, reporting to Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney-ABC Television Group.

Riley will oversee ABC Family’s original programming and acquisitions, franchise management, marketing, sales and operations. He will be responsible for the overall strategic and creative direction of the channel. Riley previously served as senior VP and general manager for Radio Disney. He joined The Walt Disney Company in April 2008. A new general manager for Radio Disney is to be announced shortly.
