Nick Cannon Re-Ups as TeenNick Chairman

NEW YORK: Nick Cannon has extended his deal with Nickelodeon to serve as chairman of TeenNick through January 2012.

Cannon, who has been in the role since March 2009, continues his on- and off-air responsibilities at the 24-hour tween- and teen-targeted channel. He is tasked with helping to develop, produce and create original programming across TeenNick’s multiple platforms. Cannon’s on-air initiatives include The Nightlife, hosted and executive produced by Cannon. He also returns as creator, host and executive producer on the second annual TeenNick HALO Awards, which pairs celebrities and teens to recognized outstanding commitment to service.
