Telemundo Inks Output Deal with Caracol

MIAMI: Telemundo has signed a multi-year output deal to serve as the exclusive broadcaster of Caracol Television’s current and future library for the U.S. market.

Some of Caracol’s telenovelas that have aired in the U.S. include hits such as Pedro El Escamoso, Sin Tetas no Hay Paraiso, Nuevo Rico Nuevo Pobre, Cartel 1 and Cartel 2 (currently on the air in Telemundo), Vecinos and Muñecas de la Mafia.

"We have enjoyed great success with Caracol in the past and this deal strengthens our relationship and positions us to do even better in the future," said Don Browne, the president of Telemundo Communications Group.

“To reach the Hispanic audience in the U.S. in a consistent and sustained manner through a top-rated broadcaster such as Telemundo, represents a transcending step for the Colombian talent and Caracol’s consolidation as a exporter of original world-class content, designed for all audiences,” added Paulo Laserna, the president of Caracol Television.

“This alliance with Telemundo not only strengthens our relationship with one of the most important television companies in the Hispanic world, but also ratifies the success of the Caracol product which with Colombian talent has conquered audiences in more than 80 countries in five continents,” commented Angélica Guerra, the VP of international at Caracol Television.
