KidsCo Launches BigTV in Africa

LONDON: BigTV, KidsCo’s first brand extension, has been launched as a complementary offering for kids in Africa, targeting 8- to 14-year-olds.

The channel will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week starting August 1 on the My TV satellite platform. BigTV will air shows such as Chuck Finn, Even Stevens, My Parents are Aliens and 100 Deeds from Eddie McDowd.

BigTV will launch across sub-Saharan Africa, and KidsCo is looking at expanding the channel globally.

Sara Wookey, the director of broadcast at KidsCo, commented: “We are very excited about the launch of our second channel. Our success with KidsCo has paved the way for BigTV. Until now, KidsCo has focused on delivering engaging and educational entertainment to 6- to 10-year-olds and families exclusively. The launch of BigTV will enable us to provide continuity for our existing audience and engage with an older market. My TV has done a superb job rolling out KidsCo to date and we look forward to repeating the success with BigTV.”
