Record Ratings for Turkish Novela

ISTANBUL: Forbidden Love achieved a 73.7-percent audience share for Kanal D in Turkey last week, according to the telenovela’s format distributor, Global Agency.

The Turkish novela has been attracting huge audiences since its premiere two years ago. The finale aired on Thursday night and delivered almost 18 million viewers. The series tells the story of an illicit affair between a young woman and her wealthy husband’s nephew. It is a modern adaptation of a novel published in Turkey in 1899.

Global Agency is expecting to close deals for the scripted format for Forbidden Love in several major European and Latin American territories.
