TORONTO: Temple Street Productions has hired Jennifer Harkness as the new head of development for factual and reality at the company, effective immediately.

Harkness started her career as the manager of development at Up Front Entertainment. She later joined Global TV as the executive in charge of production. Harkness then went to Achilles Media as the director of content for the Banff World Television Festival, and was promoted to executive director of the festival. In moving to New York, Harkness consulted on the development and co-financing of a number of TV properties for Canadian companies. She then moved back to Canada and partnered with Jumpwire Media to launch a series of cross-media events in New York, Toronto and London.

At Temple Street, Harkness will create new concepts for development and guide the slate of factual and reality projects through the development and production process.

“Jennifer is a terrific addition to the company,” said Temple Street’s co-presidents, David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg. “Her talent and experience are true assets in our continuing pursuit to develop and produce the highest quality factual and reality programming in the country.”
