LONDON: Production is under way on Sky1 HD’s second Mark Billingham adaptation, Thorne: Scaredy Cat, with Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sandra Oh to star in the series alongside David Morrissey.

The first adaptation, Thorne: Sleepyhead, finished production in April and is slated to air on Sky1 HD this fall. It is then set for a worldwide theatrical release from ContentFilm. Thorne: Scaredy Cat is the second adaptation of Mark Billingham’s DI Tom Thorne novels. The film follows the Metropolitan Police as they investigate a string of murders in London. Oh will star as DS Sarah Chen. She joins Morrissey (State of Play, Red Riding) and returning cast members Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, Happy Go Lucky), Aidan Gillen (Queer As Folk, The Wire) and O. T. Fagbenle (Material Girl, Doctor Who).

Huw Kennair-Jones, the commissioning editor for drama at Sky1 HD and Sky1, commented: "We’re thrilled to have an actress of Sandra Oh’s caliber join David Morrissey, Aidan Gillen, Eddie Marsan and the rest of the amazing cast for the Thorne adaptations as they bring Mark Billingham’s iconic characters to life on Sky1 HD. Thorne: Scaredy Cat promises to be a gripping, multi-faceted drama that’ll complement Thorne: Sleepyhead perfectly, promising to make the Thorne series an unmissable addition to Sky1 HD’s ambitious drama lineup.”
