Warner Bros. in TNT Russia Volume Deal

BURBANK/MOSCOW: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and V are among the titles included in the new multiyear volume deal Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) has signed with Russia’s TNT Broadcasting Network.

TNT has secured the Russian free-TV rights to new theatrical motion pictures from the studio; new Warner Bros. television series from the 2009–10 season as well as programs from the upcoming 2010–11 season; previously released theatrical motion pictures and hit TV shows from the Warner Bros. Entertainment library; and animated programs for a new Warner Bros.–branded animation block.

Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, the president of Warner Bros. International Television, said: “TNT’s younger-skewing audience profile is a great fit for our TV shows and movies, and we look forward to a long and successful association.”

TNT’s Roman Petrenko added: “Combined with our top-rated original TV programs, the deal will create a strong foundation for the future growth of TNT Broadcasting Network’s market share."
