LONDON: October Films’ Rude Tube International has been sold by RDF Rights into a number of new territories, including Denmark, Hungary and Japan.

Rude Tube International spotlights the Internet’s most popular viral videos and includes interviews with their creators. Season one was picked up by TV2/Danmark in Denmark, CLT-UFA for RTL 5 in the Netherlands, Kanal 5 in Sweden, NRK in Norway, Planete Cable for French-speaking Europe and Cool TV in Hungary. Two sales have also been wrapped in Japan.

Channel 4 in Finland, MTV Networks for German-speaking Europe and SBS Belgium for Flemish-speaking Belgium went for both seasons one and two.

Adam Bullmore, the creative director of October Films, said: “Thanks to RDF Rights’ support and backing we’ve been able to convert a highly successful domestic program into a winning international format and given our company a strong presence in the factual entertainment market.”

Jane Millichip, the chief operating officer at RDF Rights added: “We are delighted with the sales of Rude Tube. With the launch of series two we can now also provide international buyers with the volume they need to build Rude Tube in the schedules and emulate the brand recognition it has already established in the U.K. for Channel 4.”
