Program Consultant James Lyle Passes Away

WILTON: James Jeffrey Lyle, whose career as a television programming consultant included clients such as the BBC, National Geographic and Discovery Channel, passed away at the age of 59.

Lyle died unexpectedly at Norwalk Hospital on Saturday, January 23, from an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

As head of New York-based consulting firm Video Publishing Resources, Lyle worked for a wide array of clients, including Janson Media, the Annenberg Foundation, National Public Television’s programming at WGBH-TV, HISTORY and others. He specialized in arranging production and distribution agreements, and was a regular delegate at the MIPTV and MIPCOM markets, as well as the VSDA meetings and NATPE conventions.

Contributions in his memory can be made to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (1542 Barnum Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06610). A memorial will be held on Saturday, February 20, at 11 a.m. at the Wilton Congregational Church (70 Ridgefield Rd., Wilton, CT), followed by a reception hosted by the Board of Deacons with the assistance from the Wilton Garden Club.
