Telemundo’s The Storm Heads to Africa

MIAMI: The Telemundo Internacional telenovela The Storm has launched in Namibia on One Africa Television and is to make its debut on February 14 in Kenya on NTV.

The novela tells the story of two people who come from opposite tracks in life, yet learn that there is a thin line between love and hate. The show premiered in Namibia last month, airing Monday through Friday in the 7:30 p.m. slot. The Storm will launch in Kenya on Saturdays and Sundays in an 8 p.m. slot.

The Storm has been a strong performer in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Slovakia, Venezuela and Romania. The production has been sold in more than 85 countries, including Paraguay, Brazil, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Lithuania and Serbia.

Karina Etchison, Telemundo Internacional’s VP of sales in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, commented, “We are very pleased with the launch of The Storm in Africa, as we’re introducing our second title in this emerging market after the success of Second Chance, which aired in more than eight countries in the region.
