CABLEready Announces NATPE Pitching Event

NORWALK: Three aspiring independent TV producers will be given the chance to pitch their projects at NATPE to CABLEready, for the second annual emerging producer non-fiction competition.

The three program pitches will be selected based upon their uniqueness, strength of the pitch and series viability. The selected producers will receive free registration for NATPE 2010, where they can pitch their non-fiction program ideas to CABLEready’s development team during a dedicated conference session, Opportunity Knocks: Answer with the Perfect Pitch. The deadline for entry is December 2. The winner of the emerging producer competition will receive a one-year membership to CableU and a possible one-year representation deal with CABLEready.

Gary Lico, the president and CEO of CABLEready who is also a member of the NATPE Board of Directors, commented, “NATPE and our company recognize the enormous number of talented aspiring producers who are seeking an opportunity to put their ideas in front of industry professionals who can assist them in their career development. CableU’s competition along with NATPE’s ongoing outreach to these potential hit-makers is one way that all of us can help emerging talent find a place in our business. This will be the second year in a row that we conduct this session for independent producers attending NATPE, and last year’s winner sold their project to HISTORY!”
