Paramount Digital Original Series Debuts on MySpace

LOS ANGELES: The Paramount Digital Entertainment (PDE) original supernatural thriller Circle of Eight, which combines elements of gaming and social media to drive the story line, premieres today exclusively on MySpace.

Available at myspace.com/circleof8, the first three episodes of the ten-part series launch today. Episodes four and five debut on November 3, and one new episode will launch each week following until the finale on December 8. Produced in association with Mountain Dew’s Green Label Studios, Circle of Eight tells the story of a young woman who moves into a historic building, where she encounters a group of neighbors who are harboring a mysterious secret. This unravels in a chain of deaths and supernatural interactions. The series is bolstered by multiple levels of interactive content, such as hidden clues, an online and mobile game and exclusive material that can only be unlocked through game play.

MySpace’s social-networking features allow users to share and embed the content, interact with the series through social gaming and content, and broadcast their thoughts via forums and commenting. Following the online run on MySpace, Circle of Eight will be available for rent exclusively at participating Blockbuster stores, as well as by mail and through Blockbuster On Demand. The full-length film will have additional scenes and a surprise alternate ending.

Mountain Dew plays a key role in the Circle of Eight story line. One of the characters in the series joins the Green Label Art community and creates a unique, custom-designed Green Label Art bottle. The bottle is also featured in the online game, where it unlocks deeper mysteries in the Circle of Eight story line. In addition to its product integration into the story, Mountain Dew is promoting the series at stops on the Dew Action Sports Tour, in movie theaters and on TV.

Circle of Eight is directed by Stephen Cragg (Reaper, ER, NCIS), and written by Dave Brewman and Brian Horiuchi. The series is produced by Alexandra Milchan and David Van Eyssen and executive produced by Jamie Boscardin Martin (production supervisor for Bruno, Borat).
