CCI Seals German Format Deal on New Art Show

TORONTO: CCI Entertainment is working with Motionworks to produce a local version of its new live-action and CGI series Artzooka!—which was launched at MIP Junior this weekend—for Nick Germany.

The local-language episodes will feature Nils Bomhoff as host and will be accompanied by a dedicated website and a marketing campaign across Germany. The format deal follows CCI receiving a commission from CBC for the original Canadian edition, which launches in the fall of 2010. Targeted at kids 6 to 10, Artzooka! focuses on taking ordinary items and recycling them into extraordinary pieces of art.

Arnie Zipursky, co-chairman of CCI Entertainment, said of the show: “The series was designed in a way that allows local versions to be easily produced using local talent and we are confident that this will be the first of many versions we create.”

Oliver Schablitzki of Nickelodeon Germany called Artzooka! "a fun and inspiring art show with a very unique approach to handicraft. The show unites activation with entertainment and thus supplements our Nickelodeon portfolio perfectly."
