France Televisions Distribution Presents Diverse Portfolio

PARIS: Following a string of successes this summer, France Televisions Distribution is at MIPCOM this week with a varied slate of content, from new dramas to documentaries to kids series and entertainment formats.

Recent achievements for the distribution arm of the French broadcaster include the sale of two seasons of Clara Sheller to Hallmark Channel in Eastern Europe. In addition, Apocalypse: The Second World War, a six-part series, sold to the U.S., Japan and across Europe. In France, it netted a 22.3-percent share on France 2. It also aired in 165 territories on National Geographic Channels International. On the kids front, the 78×7-minute The Podcats sold to TV3 Spain, while in light entertainment, Australia’s SBS picked up the game-show format Letter and Numbers.

The company has 100 new hours of content to present, including the eight-part La Commanderie, a drama for France 2 that premieres in January, and the fourth season of Summer Dreams. On the doc front there are the green-themed offerings Earth From AboveHere to Stay, Rise of Ecology, Changing Climate, Cursed for Gold and Scenario 2100, among others. The animated portfolio consists of ten new episodes of The Podcats as well as Lulu Vroumette, which premieres on France 5 and other broadcasters next fall.
