9 Story Signs Co-Development Deal, New International Sales

TORONTO: 9 Story Entertainment has entered into a partnership to co-develop a new animated comedy with marblemedia, along with scoring a slate of international sales for the series Wild Kratts with a number of international broadcasters.

marblemedia and 9 Story are partnering up for Gnasty Gnomes, a new animated comedy aimed at kids 6 to 11. The series is based on the R.L. Stine book of the same name. The two companies will share distribution, with 9 Story handling Latin America, Italy and Spain, and marblemedia’s distribution arm, Distribution360, responsible for all other territories.

“Developing Gnasty Gnomes with an acclaimed company like 9 Story Entertainment allows us to combine creative forces to tell unique stories for this exciting new series,” said Matt Hornburg, a partner and executive producer at marblemedia. “They produce great story-focused content for kids, and we’re very happy to be collaborating with them.”

For the series Wild Kratts, a co-production between The Kratt Brothers Company and 9 Story Entertainment, Discovery Kids Latin America has picked up the rights to air all 40 episodes. 9 Story also signed broadcast deals with Al Jazeera Children’s Channel in the Middle East, NOGA in Israel, TV3 in Spain and Dublin Films of Ireland. The series premieres in 2011 on PBS KIDS GO! in the U.S. In Canada, the series is to air on TVOntario, Knowledge Network and Télé -Québec. 9 Story will be introducing four newly completed episodes at MIPCOM.
