2waytraffic Scores ITV1 Recommission for Millionaire

LONDON, September 25: 2waytraffic UK has announced that ITV1
has recommissioned its game-show format Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? for another season.

The new deal comprises at least 25×1-hour episodes and will
see the quiz show continue to be featured in ITV1’s prime-time schedule until at least spring 2009.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? made its global debut on ITV1 in September 1998 and
has been a mainstay of the schedule since. Now in its 22nd season,
there have been more than 480 episodes, featuring over 1,311 contestants in the
hotseat, collectively winning over £50,000,000. The show recently introduced a
new contestant casting initiative and a newly configured money tree, featuring
a new, faster route to the million-pound jackpot, as well as refreshed graphics
and music. The new look proved to be a hit, with the first episode, a celebrity
special, attracting an average of 6.1 million viewers or a 28-percent share.

Kees Abrahams, the CEO of 2waytraffic, said: “We are
delighted that ITV has pledged its on-going confidence in Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire?
and look forward to producing
the show for them long into the future.”
