Channel 5’s 5STAR has commissioned several crime titles, including Murdered by My Stalker, from Spun Gold Television.

Murdered by My Stalker is an hour-long program that examines the need for better support for stalking victims. The show features the brutal murder of Alice Ruggles, whose ex-boyfriend became obsessed with her after she ended their relationship, and who killed her despite the police being aware of the fact that he was stalking her.

Another commission is Killed on Camera, the story of a family’s quest to discover how a snuff movie fantasist who was known as a sexual predator by the police was able to torture and kill a 17-year-old on camera. There is also Stabbed in the Back, which digs deep to discover the story behind the stabbing of Sam Caulfield in Crawley, West Sussex. 5STAR also picked up Murdered by My Girlfriend, which explores three cases in the U.K. in which women were convicted of manslaughter.

Spun Gold’s managing director, Daniela Neumann, said, “We’re delighted to be continuing our strong relationship with the Channel 5 family through these new commissions. There’s a huge demand for crime and investigation programming in the U.K. and worldwide, and it’s a genre we’re focused on growing as we build Spun Gold’s programming slate.”
