Viacom is bringing a Paramount-branded SVOD service to Central and Eastern Europe, beginning with a launch in Poland this month.

Delivering Paramount Pictures movies plus TV content from Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., Paramount Play debuts with mobile operator Play and cable TV distributor Toya. More operators are expected to launch the service in the coming months. In addition to U.S. content, it will showcase Polish originals from MTV and Comedy Central such as Warsaw Shore and Drunk History Poland. The Central and Eastern European launch follows the introduction of Paramount+ in the Nordics.

Bartosz Witak, senior VP and general manager for Viacom International Media Networks in Central Eastern Europe and Israel, commented, “Paramount Play is an important extension of our content offering for our distribution partners, which will diversify our footprint and bolster our market-leading position in CEE. A perfect complement to our linear TV business, this service enables our partners to offer unique, extra content to their premium customers, which will be accessible anytime, anywhere and on any device. Easy navigation between our brands under a single Paramount+ user interface will also boost discoverability of our content more broadly.”
