ZDF Enterprises & Beta Film in Scripted JV

Beta Film and ZDF Enterprises have teamed up to launch Intaglio Films, a new scripted venture that will develop, finance and produce drama for the international market.

Headquartered in Berlin, Intaglio Films will be led by producer Frank Doelger, executive producer on HBO’s Game of Thrones, John Adams and Rome. Doelger will head up the company’s development and production slate, acting as bureau chief and leveraging his expertise and long-running creative relationships with broadcasters.

Beta Film’s managing director, Moritz von Kruedener, and VP of ZDFE.drama, Robert Franke, will manage the venture’s business affairs.

Doelger commented: “Of all the opportunities presented to me upon completion of Game of Thrones, the new joint venture proposed by Beta Film and ZDF Enterprises was by far the most interesting and creatively challenging. Backed by the formidable resources of Beta and ZDF Enterprises, and their shared vision for Intaglio, I am looking forward to continuing to work with the established creative community, as well as emerging talent, on both sides of the Atlantic.”
