KUALA LUMPUR: Emerald City, a new reimagining of L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz, has been licensed by the internet TV service iflix for viewers across Southeast Asia.

Starting today, iflix subscribers in Southeast Asia can now stream and download the first four episodes of NBCUniversal’s new drama series. Upcoming episodes will be fast-tracked from the U.S. every week exclusively for the region on iflix.

Currently available in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Brunei, the Maldives and Pakistan, iflix is already home to such U.S. hits as Mr. Robot, The Magicians and Fargo.

James Bridges, iflix’s group chief content officer, commented: “Emerald City is an epic, enthralling and much darker take on the world of Oz, brought to life for a new generation with director Tarsem Singh’s jaw-dropping, breathtaking visual flair. We’re thrilled once again to partner with NBCUniversal International Distribution to bring this epic series to viewers across Southeast Asia for the first time, exclusively on iflix.”
