CBC has renewed the comedy Schitt’s Creek, with an increased episode count for season five.

Season five of the hit series, created by and starring Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy, will return in winter 2019. The fifth season will be comprised of 14 half-hour episodes compared to 13. The comedy follows a family that was once wealthy and is forced to move to Schitt’s Creek when they suddenly find themselves broke. The show is produced by Not A Real Company Productions.

Schitt’s Creek continues to deliver with intelligent humor and incredibly creative storytelling,” said Sally Catto, the general manager of programming at CBC. “Throughout the past four seasons, the series has struck a chord with Canadian and international audiences and we could not be more excited or proud to deliver a fifth season to all the devoted fans.”
