Tricon Debuting New Cookery Show

TORONTO: A new cookery show available as a 6×30-minute series and 20×5-minute shorts will be presented alongside a host of documentary, sci-fi and lifestyle fare in Tricon Films & Television’s MIPTV catalogue.

Originally a series of 2 five-minute online shorts, Bitchin’ Kitchen has been commissioned by Canada’s Food Network for a 6×30-minute series. Tricon is debuting both the television series and the accompanying shorts at MIPTV.

Edge Codes, featuring interviews with cinema greats, takes a journey through the history of motion-picture editing. The documentary features the likes of George Lucas, Norman Jewison, Michael Ondaatje, Bruce McDonald and Cameron Bailey, as well as the editors of Raging Bull, The Aviator and The Matrix Trilogy. Also in the way of documentary fare, 21 Days to Nawroz explores the lives of three very different Kurdish women as they prepare for the ancient New Year feast by reckoning with the past and looking to the future.

Tricon will debut the second season of the science-fiction drama Sanctuary at the market as well. The 26×1-hour series has scored solid ratings on SCI FI Channel in the U.S. and ITV in the U.K. The show follows the exploits of Dr. Helen Magnus as she seeks out all manner of terrifying and monstrous creatures.

Marriage Under Construction, now in its third season, is a lifestyle entertainment program that follows the lives of a married couple purchasing their first home. Tricon will be launching 39 new half-hour episodes.
