New ProSiebenSat.1 Owner Could Be Named by Friday

FRANKFURT, December 12: A consortium led by Haim Saban is
expected to select the winning bidder for its 50.5 percent stake in
ProSiebenSat.1 Media by Friday, wire reports indicate.

Today was the deadline for bid submissions. Three offers are
said to be on the table: one from Turkey’s Dogan Yayin, one from Permira and
KKR, and one from Goldman Sachs and Apax. AFX cited a Handelsblatt article in which a source close to the negotiations
said, “We assume a decision is going to be made quickly, probably by Friday.”

Saban resumed his efforts to sell off his stake in the
German broadcasting group in October, about nine months after competition
authorities blocked Axel Springer’s takeover bid.
