Zodiak Acquires British Firm Bullseye

STOCKHOLM/LONDON, August 28: Zodiak Television has
announced plans to acquire the British production and distribution firm
Bullseye TV, which will take on the rights to Zodiak Television World’s assets,
moving the Scandinavian company’s distribution activities from Copenhagen to
London.

The acquisition from Roth Media is expected to be
finalized by the end of next month. Once completed, Bullseye’s distribution arm
will be rebranded as Zodiak Television World, operating out of London and
selling formats, clips and finished programs. The production arm will remain as
Bullseye TV. Jorg Roth, the managing director, founder and main shareholder of
Bullseye, will head both divisions and will join the Zodiak group management
team.

Heather Stevenson, currently the president of
Zodiak Television World, will be leaving the company. She said in a statement
today: “I have taken Zodiak Television World through a period of tough
international competition. After thorough research and analysis I have
suggested to the board of directors that with Zodiak’s strong growth ambitions,
its distribution hub—with the import and export of formats and the target
to become full service—needs to be based in London and have a much bigger
critical mass. I found Bullseye TV and I think they are the perfect merger
candidate, even though it means that my position will disappear when the
operations combine later in the year since I cannot move from Copenhagen for
personal reasons.”
