MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises is bringing four new TV movies and mini-series to MIPTV, led by Whiteout, based on a thriller by Ken Follett.

The two-parter tells the story of a deadly virus being stolen from a lab by criminals whose escape is blocked by a blizzard. It is produced by ZDF, ZDF Enterprises, Network Movie, Constantin Television, Palomar and RTI. Also available will be The Secret of the Whales, starring Veronica Ferres (The Woman from Checkpoint Charlie) and Christopher Lambert (Highlander), about a woman who stumbles upon criminal dealings and an ecological disaster in New Zealand while investigating the death of her father.

Hope, meanwhile, tells the story of the first woman to obtain a medical degree in Germany and stars Heike Makatsch (Love Actually). Rounding out the slate is the TV movie Dutschke, exploring the life of one of the leading figures in the "68 Generation." Produced by teamWorx for ZDF, Dutschke stars Christoph Bach as the political firebrand.
