ZDF Enterprises Highlights New Series, Clip Service

MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises is bringing a full catalogue to MIPCOM, as well as introducing the new premium short-film service contunico.

ZDFE will debut the new kids’ series Lightning Point, from producer Jonathan M. Shiff. The series is about two alien teen girls who crash-land on the Australian coast and enjoy surfing. Also from Australia is the second season of Dance Academy, a teen series about training to be classical dancers. New episodes of the animation series Laura’s Star and Sherlock Yack will be offered.

Documentaries being offered include Planet Egypt, which gives an in-depth look at the entire history of ancient Egypt. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Saving the Titanic focuses on the engineers below deck who attempted to save the ship.

Police dramas and thrillers available include the Danish-Swedish co-production The Bridge; the series Arne Dahl, about a team of Swedish specialists; and Jack Taylor, featuring a private eye on the rugged West-Irish coast. The new factual series Alaska State Troopers features the everyday work of the police force in the most heavily armed state in the U.S.

The company will also be introducing the new premium short-film service contunico, aimed at media-industry professionals who want to include ZDFE’s video content in their work.

ZDF Enterprises’ president and CEO, Alexander Coridass, said: “By introducing a new service like contunico, new genre collections such as factual series, and lavishly produced digital specials such as those on Planet Egypt and Ocean Worlds, our clients can see that we are constantly endeavoring to improve our service with imaginative and helpful new products. I think all our clients realize that in times of rapid change, we, too, can show the way to exciting new sales and service strategies.”
