YTV Snaps Up 4Kids Titles

NEW YORK: 4Kids Entertainment has licensed the latest series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise to YTV in Canada, which also scored the rights to the comedy adventure series Gogoriki.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds is the ninth season in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. YTV has picked up 52 half-hour episodes for its 2009-2010 season.  The 35×30-minute Gogoriki was adapted by 4Kids Productions from the long-running Russian TV series known as Smeshariki

“4Kids and YTV have enjoyed a terrific and successful programming relationship throughout the decade as evidenced by YTV’s acquisition of over 1,200 episodes of 4Kids-offered content,” said Brian Lacey, the executive VP of international at 4Kids Entertainment. “We’re proud to once again work with YTV this time to offer Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds and Gogoriki to YTV’s audience.”
