YouView CTO Exits

LONDON: Anthony Rose, the chief technology officer of YouView, the yet-to-launch IPTV joint venture formerly known as Project Canvas, after serving less than six months.

Rose, one of the architects of the BBC iPlayer, will continue to work with the company in an advisory role on product development. He is not being directly replaced, but Youssef Tuma has been named head of technical deliver. Andrew Burdess, who was previously operations director at BT Vision, is joining YouView as director of operations. Greg McCall will remain as launch director and Jeff Hunter will continue as chief architect.

“As we move into this next phase of our development I want to pay tribute to the brilliant work Anthony Rose has done to shape the consumer proposition and I am pleased that he has agreed to continue to advise the project," said Richard Halton, the CEO of YouView.

YouView, which is set to launch in the first half of 2011, has been in development during the last six months.
