WWE, Ten Sports in New Indian Broadcast Agreement

MUMBAI, June 16: Taj TV’s
Ten Sports has secured the exclusive broadcast rights through 2014 to more than
450 hours of first-run content from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in the
Indian sub-continent.

WWE content presented on Ten
Sports across India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan,
Afghanistan and the Maldives, will include RAW, SmackDown and ECW, as well as
special pay-per-view events. The programming will feature WWE stars such as
Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Batista,
MVP, Kane and Undertaker.

The new agreement marks
the third major long-term rights acquisition for Ten Sports in the last two
months, following deals with the West Indies Cricket Board and the UEFA
Champions League.

Chris McDonald, the CEO of
Ten Sports, said: “WWE has been with Ten Sports since our channel launched back
in 2002. We are delighted to extend the relationship through the end of 2014.”

Andrew Whitaker, WWE’s president, added: “Our new agreement is a real testament to
the strength of our business relationship with Ten Sports as a key global
network partner. WWE boasts a strong record of delivering ratings success to
our network partners across the world and we fully intend to continue to build
