WWE Star Found Dead

STAMFORD, June 26: World Wrestling Entertainment superstar
Chris Benoit was found dead in his home in Fayette County, Georgia, yesterday,
along with his wife and 7-year-old son, in what reports indicate was a
murder-suicide.

Authorities have not disclosed how the three died. Autopsies
were reportedly performed today, and toxicology reports are expected in about
two weeks. The local sheriff’s office is currently operating off the theory
that Benoit murdered his wife and son on Sunday before taking his own life
yesterday.

According to the WWE website, Benoit cancelled appearances
at two wrestling events in Texas over the weekend, citing a family emergency.
He then sent “curious text messages” to friends on Sunday morning, who alerted
Richard Hering, the VP of government relations for WWE. Hering, in turn, spoke
with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested they respond to the Benoit
residence.

Benoit, nicknamed The Rabid Wolverine and The Canadian
Crippler, was one of the WWE’s biggest stars. The WWE aired a three-hour
tribute to Benoit on the USA Network last night, in place of Monday Night
RAW
