WordWorld Picked Up by Discovery Kids Latin America

CANNES: The CGI multimedia property WordWorld is to begin airing on Discovery Kids in Latin America in July 2010.

Each episode of WordWorld builds a story around a group of WordFriends who are made up of the letters that spell their names. Children are taught to put letters together to build worlds. Discovery Networks Latin America will dub sections of the show into both Spanish and Portuguese to reinforce the English-language learning.

“Discovery Kids continues to set the standard in Latin American as the network dedicated to fun, curiosity and independent thinking,” said Bilai Joa Silar, the VP and channel director of Discovery Kids Latin America. “WordWorld is just another example of how the channel is able to answer this thirst for knowledge in a way both children and parents can enjoy.”

“Discovery Kids has such an impressive influence throughout the region and consistently delivers on entertainment, education and play,” added Don Moody, the creator of WordWorld. “The collaboration with Discovery will help us reach entirely new audiences with the most trusted brand in the region, helping children develop their English-language skills in a much more effective and entertaining way.”
