Winners Named for Banff’s Fiction Rockies

BANFF: The Banff World Media Festival has presented its Fiction Rockies in the categories of entertainment, drama and youth, with wins for Downton Abbey, The Big C and Sid the Science Kid, among others.

The Rockie for continuing series went to Sherlock: A Study in Pink. Eva Luna won for best soap opera/telenovela. The Big C‘s "Playing the Cancer Car" took the win for sitcom. Stella and Sam‘s "Night Fairies" was selected as the best children’s program for kids 2+. In the 13+ segment, Anash and the Legacy of the Sun-Rock‘s "Death and Peace" took the win. Sid the Science Kid‘s "Ignatz’s Intertia" was selected as the best animated program.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards won the Rockie for best music/variety program. lol 🙂 season one, episode two took the comedy win. Temple Grandin was the best TV movie, while Downton Abbey won for mini-series.

In the categories Francophones, 19-2 took the fiction win, Un gars le soir won for entertainment and L’Horrorarium won for kids.
