Winners Announced for International Digital Emmy Awards

CANNES: Last night in Cannes, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognized the winners of the 2013 International Digital Emmy Awards, which represent Australia, Canada and the Netherlands.

At a ceremony organized in partnership with Reed MIDEM and sponsored by the Bell Fund of Canada, the winner for the children and young people category was named as dirtgirlworld… dig it all, from mememe productions, dirtgirlworld productions and Screen Australia. The fiction category was won by Guidestones, from Canada’s 3 o’clock.tv and iThentic. From the Netherlands, FCCE and Ziggo’s Entertainment Experience took the win for non-fiction.

The creator of CSI, Anthony Zuiker, was honored with this year’s Pioneer Prize for his contribution to the field of digital entertainment with the online thriller Cybergeddon.

“With cutting-edge concepts and technology that pushes every frontier, these Emmy winners brilliantly demonstrate the wonderful versatility of multiplatform storytelling,” said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, who presented the Pioneer Prize to Zuiker.
