WGBH Stock Sales Launches Streaming Video on New Website

BOSTON, January 4: WGBH
Stock Sales has revamped its website to include more interactive features such
as streaming video and downloadable clips from award-winning prime-time public TV
series such as Nova, Frontline, American Experience and Antiques Roadshow.

The extensive archive of
footage dates back to the beginning of public television in the 1950s.
Additional video clips are being added weekly as new materials become available
for licensing.

The simplified website, a
collaboration with MediaRecall Digital Services, now allows viewers to search
and browse WGBH’s extensive video collection and download clips for review
purposes. Highlights of the collection include nature footage, medical and
scientific animations, historical recreations and reenactments, and footage
from the Middle East. More than 30,000 clips are accessible via the text
database included on the site.

“We are pleased to have
this opportunity to offer WGBH’s award-winning content to a new generation of
filmmakers and researchers by providing greater digital access to more than
180,000 hours of film and video,” said Sue Kantrowitz, WGBH’s VP of business
affairs. “This archive represents a collective memory of shared experiences
spanning the past fifty years.”
