WBITV, ViDeOnline Ink Hong Kong VOD Deal

BURBANK/HONG KONG, May 8: Hundreds of feature films
distributed by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) will
be offered for legal download through ViDeOnline Communications’ (VDO) on
demand “08Media” portal, which launched on March 29 in Hong Kong.

In the multiyear video-on-demand (VOD) and subscription
video-on-demand (SVOD) deal, VDO secured the Hong Kong rights to all current
feature-length motion pictures and hundreds of library feature films
distributed by WBITD. Under the agreement—negotiated on behalf of WBITD
by Ted Lai, the VP of international television—ViDeOnline’s “08Media”
portal will initially feature more than 100 motion pictures distributed by
WBITD, including recent releases such as Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, V For Vendetta, Superman Returns, The
Ant Bully
, Lady in the Water and the Academy Award-winning animated feature film Happy
Feet
. In addition, popular catalog titles
will also be available for download, including The Polar Express, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Firewall. All video content can be streamed or downloaded and played on
compatible home computers.

ViDeOnline Communications aggregates digital media content
for distribution over its secured 08 Media network to Internet Service
Providers, broadband carriers, IPTV and digital TV providers and mobile phone
carriers. ViDeOnline’s initial market focus is Asia, specifically China.
