WBD Refreshes U.K. Free-To-Air Portfolio

Warner Bros. Discovery has unveiled a refreshed free-to-air portfolio in the U.K., including a new-look TLC channel.

The new-look TLC channel serves as a destination for a range of scripted and unscripted content. The comedy series The Big Bang Theory and its spin-offs, Young Sheldon and Mike and Molly, are available at launch. The U.K. premiere of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will follow on January 18 on the channel.

TLC will also be home to the return of the satirical panel show Mock the Week, bowing on February 1. Hosted by Dara Ó Briain, the one-hour episodes will feature top comedians such as Rhys James, Sara Pascoe, Angela Barnes, Ed Byrne, Ahir Shah, Milton Jones, Katherine Ryan and many more.

Mock the Week is part of a bumper 2026 TLC schedule that, from April, also includes the new series Zero Stars. Dr Pimple Popper, The Bad Skin Clinic, My 600Lb Life and the 90 Day Fiancé franchise will also continue to be part of the channel’s offer in the U.K. and Ireland.

Other channels that are part of WBD’s refreshed U.K. collection are Quest, Quest Red, Food Network, Really and DMAX.

“We are delighted to bring a new-look TLC to free-to-air in the U.K., launching as part of a refreshed FTA portfolio that gives our viewers increased choice from a cohesive family of channels, each with a clear brand identity and distinct content offer,” said Graham Lafferty, senior VP of content strategy and networks at WBD UK & Ireland. “With a move to broad entertainment, we are excited to program both scripted and unscripted content on TLC, bringing viewers everything from The Big Bang Theory to Mock the Week in 2026. The return of Mock the Week is something we are hugely excited by, and we hope fans of the show will enjoy more of what they loved with new one-hour episodes, Dara Ó Briain back at the helm, and a series that includes the nation’s favorite comedians.”

He continued, “Our commitment to local programming continues to be at the heart of our content strategy, and as we bring our refreshed linear portfolio to market today, we do so with a strong slate of new and returning local originals—working with valued U.K. production partners to commission local stories and talent for local audiences.”

WBD UK & Ireland has also confirmed a number of new and returning U.K. commissions for 2026.

Vinnie Jones in the Country will be returning to discovery+ on February 2, while Richard Hammond’s Workshop will come back for its sixth season later this year. Also, later in 2026, discovery+ will debut the true-crime series An American Serial Killer in Cairo (w.t.).

Quest, meanwhile, will welcome two new series in 2026: Guz Khan’s Custom Cars and Francis Bourgeois & Chris Harris: We Saved a Train. The Guz Khan series will premiere on January 19. Returning to Quest will be Johnny Vegas’ Little Shop of Antiques and Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic.

The series was ordered by Lafferty and commissioned by Charlotte Reid for WBD UK & Ireland.
